You have nailed a destination and threw in a couple boxers in your backpack and off you go. Well, not so fast.In this day and age touring by motorcycle seems basic. It is because it really is. If your bike is well prepared( that means you have done your pre-ride motorcycle inspection), you drag along a few motorcycle tools ,if you have common sense, wear proper riding gear and  always bring your owner’s manual, you  should be able to overcome most emergencies and all kinds of weather conditions that you will encounter during your long motorcycle tour.
For some riders, the perfect vacation is riding long days on their bikes. For them the road is simply a way to merge points of interests which are best experienced on a motorcycle. The ride is the destination.
Riders with rigid schedule and who strictly stick to it will not only fore go and by pass chances to stop and smell the roses like, taking leisurely meals and see some exotic sites. It will also expose them to dangerous situations because they force themselves to ride even if they lack sleep and tired.
Experienced riders normally ride 300 to 500 miles a day and usually already  have developed systems and routines for long motorcycle trips. They usually ride alone on major roads and interstates and can still do it leisurely. But if you have never taken a long ride before, you should start carving away a few miles on the first day. The first day of your tour will involve some adjustments and delays to your gear and motorcycle. The second day will probably be the best day for beginner motorcycle tourers because you are still fresh and most bugs will probably be worked out. After the third day, fatigue is likely to become a major factor.
Minor things such as a flapping jacket collars, loud pipes, uncomfortable helmet and motorcycle seat, wind noise,scratched face shields or windshields, continuous exposure to sun and wind can dehydrate you faster than you may have realized. These situations can easily wear you down and can be a tremendous source of fatigue.
Here are what you need to fight fatigue:
1. Adequate sleep-If you plan to rack up numerous miles on your long motorcycle tour, you need to strategically plan your sleep and rest. You can have a sleep deficit if you ride long and hard by day and not get enough sleep and waking up for early departures. Plan to have a catch-up on sleep every two or three days and set a flexible riding routine. Do not make the mistake of drinking liquor thinking that it is a sleep aid. Alcohol actually reduce the quality and quantity of your sleep. Give your body a chance to adapt. Take breaks as often as you can.
2.You will need ear plugs and good quality full face helmet to protect against wind noise. A windshield that you can comfortably see over can also reduce wind noise.
3. You will need a vented or mesh jacket and helmet to protect you against sunburn and windburn. Some riders mistakenly wear only a cotton tshirt or even go top naked in dealing with the scorching heat. They don’t know they are more likely to fatigue faster.
4. Modifications on your bike like adding a comfortable saddle, a sissy bar bag with a combination backrest,small windshields with no visual distortions. These things can contribute to a more comfortable and more fun long motorcycle tour.
And of course a few calisthenics( before and after a ride), proper nutrition and constant re-hydration by drinking a lot of water will increase your energy, makes you more alert and consequently enable you to experience an enjoyable journey on a bike. These tips are boring i know, but these are time tested solutions for fighting fatigue.
One of other major concerns of riders who are planning to embark on a long motorcycle trek is gas mileage. How many miles does a tank full of gas cover? You would not want to be stranded in a strange deserted road and as darkness fall ,waiting for someone who would come by and help you.
The main idea here is to find ways to maximize the gas tank’s capacity. Make sure to load up a full tank of fuel before a long leg. Some bikes will take a minute or two before the air escapes around the filler baffle and adding a squirt or two will get much more fuel to the tank. Another way is to straighten up the motorcycle instead of leaning it on the side stand will get significantly more fuel into the tank.
If you have 5.0 gallon tank, it will take about 4.0 gallons of gas consumption when the low-fuel light blinks for the first time. You have about 1.0 gallon of gas left and you can go approximately 40 miles at 45 mph after that. You have to pull over and fill up the tank completely when the low-fuel light comes on.
Speed changes mean more mileage especially if you are riding on little country back roads compared to a long stretch of straight roads.
Leave some time in your itinerary for the unexpected. As the saying goes” you experienced nature first hand on a motorcycle”. It also means motorcycles are susceptible to weather and mechanical delays than cars. Give yourself extra time as buffer, just in case you get held up surprisingly by traffic, weather and motorcycle problems etc. This particular riding tip is for riders who must be back at work on a given day.
When you know that motorcycles are the ultimate freedom machines and riding it will unveil a whole new world of adventure, all yours for exploring. You will want to thoroughly plan before embarking your first long motorcycle tour.

Now I am going to introduce this method respectively for Windows and Mac users.
For Windows users
The application that has the most complete functions is DVD Decrypter. It can rip DVD to DVD folder, ISO file and burn ISO files to blank DVD discs. The steps to use this software are:
Step 1: Import DVD Disc
Download the software from the website of DVD Decrypter and install it. Insert your DVD disc. If it is protected, the program will prompt a message stating the protection type (RC, RCE, CSS, CPPM etc.) of your DVD along with a list letting you select your region. You can just tick the right region and click OK.

Step 2: Rip ISO file
DVD Decrypter provides three output methods: File Mode, IFO Mode and ISO Mode. If you want to convert your movie to an ISO file, you can just select “ISO Mode –Read” and click the DVD icon to start the conversion process. See the figure below:

Tips:
1. ISO-Read: To convert your original DVD to ISO image file on your hard drive.
2. After conversion, what you get will be a protection-removed ISO file. You can use a virtual drive tool, say DAEMON Tools, to load the ISO file and view your movie on your computer.
Note: Because FAT32 does not support files that are bigger than 4GB, you have to do the following: Settings -> ISO Read Mode -> File Splitting -> Auto. Thus, big ISO files can be split automatically.
Step 3: Burn ISO to DVD
Insert a blank disc twritable), select Mode->ISO-Wo your DVD drive (rite. Then click the DVD icon, and the new protection-free DVD will be burned. See the figure below:

Tip: Select Test Mode, the program will simulate the burning process. You can refer to this process to correct the settings.
Note: The latest version of DVD Decrypter was released on June 7th, 2005 and the version number is Version 3.5.4.0 (final).
It only supports Windows Server 2003 or below.
If you are a vista user, you can use DVD ripper software to remove DVD protections and convert them to regular video, and burn converted video to DVD with DVD burner software.
Additional Tips:
1 .File Mode, IFO Mode are often used to convert video and audio files. I will introduce them in another article about DVD Decrypter.
2. DVDShrink and Nero together can also help you get the job done. But Nero 8 alone will cost you $63.99.
3. For the info on how to convert regular video files to DVDs, you can refer to this step by step guide.
For Macintosh OS users
There are very few free applications like DVD Decrypter for Mac users. So the method I have discovered is to use two applications to copy DVD on Mac OS.
1. Use DVD Ripper software to remove DVD protection and copy DVD folders.
2. Use DVD Burner software to burn the copied DVD folders to a DVD disc.
Part 1. Copy DVD to a DVD folder
Step 1: Get Ready
MacTheRipper is one of the best free DVD Rippers on Mac OS. You can download it HERE. To install MacTheRipper, simply mount the .dmg archive by double-clicking it, and copy the MacTheRipper application from it to your Applications folder (or wherever you want it), along with this MacTheRipper Manual if you need it.
Step 2: Rip DVD
Run MacTheRipper, and insert the source DVD disc. MacTheRipper can automatically detect the info of the inserted DVD disc. See the figure below:
There are two major setting parts: Disc and Mode

1. RCE Region settings:
UOPS: allow you to skip or fast-forward through most DVD content, such as warning screens, previews etc.
RCE Region: If MacTheRipper displays “DISC RCE: CLEAR” after scanning the DVD, you can leave the option to OFF status.
If MacTheRipper displays “DISC RCE: -DETECTED-”, you must set the option to the region in which the DVD was purchased. For example, if you have a DVD that was purchased in N. America (Region 1), and MacTheRipper says that RCE is detected, you must set the ‘RCE Region’ popup menu to ‘RCE 1″
De-Macrovision: allow you to record your DVDs straight to VCR, or connect the DVD player through a VCR without getting a bunch of wavy lines. This is enabled by default.
2.In Mode settings:
Select the Full Disc Extraction Mode to reserve all the info in the inserted DVD disc.
Note: If the coped DVD folder only contains one folder: VIDEO_TS, in order to play the final DVD disc, you should create an empty folder and name it AUDIO_TS in the DVD folder.
Part2. Burn DVD Folder to a blank DVD
Wondershare DVD Copy for Mac is an application that can be used to burn DVD folders. After you launch the software, you will see the window below:

Select Source:
Click the Browse button (the button of two arrows) in the Select Source field and import the coped DVD folder.
Select DVD Copy Method:
You can select the DVD ROM where you have inserted a blank DVD disc.
Click the Start button to start burning it to a new DVD disc.
Tip: A playable DVD disc should contain two folders: VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. The AUDIO_TS folder is also required although it is sometimes empty.
This Mac method is what I have discovered for Mac users. However, I am no expert of Mac since I still use Windows most of the time. Probably this is not the easiest method, but I hope it can throw some light on how to copy DVDs on Mac OS.

I bought it used and needing repair after the original owner had let it go too long. As it happens, the Jolida service center is near Washington, D.C. so it’s not too inconvenient for me to have serviced in person. I bought it for a song and have spent very little on keeping it sounding great. The very musical sound of this amp (which is surprisingly powerful given the modest output spec) is the quality I love most. It has very simple controls and needs nothing else except, sometimes I wish mine had a remote. Anyway, tube equipment is NOT for everyone. But if you know what the natural warmth of analog amplification does to digital sources, you’ll absolutely LOVE this amp.I have digital CD players and an Apple Base Station connected to it, and also use a couple of DACs. Though those aren’t strictly necessary for great sound, they do help my mid-fi CD players sound more coherent. The Jolida loves a detailed source so pair it up with a good universal disc player or your iPod. Perversely, my turntable is connected to a massive B&K digital amp, via a Bellario tube phono stage, but I know it would sound better playing through the Jolida.Speaker selection is always critical. I have found that for my taste and listening habits, Vienna Acoustics Haydn bookshelf speakers are an ideal compliment to this amp. They have incredible bass and yet the speed and midrange detail that perfectly suit this Jolida.
