SweetAs a pro photographer, I always use the best equipment. I wanted to add a fast f/1.4 lens to my bag, and this a truly a great lens. The quality of construction is excellent. I do a lot of low light photography (without my SB-900 flash), and the equipment I constantly use includes a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 and the Nikon D3S. I wanted an extremely fast telephoto for unique situations, and the Sigma was a great choice. If this lens had image stabilization, it might be even better. But with four times (thanks for catching my error C) the light from my f/2.8 lenses and with the high ISO photography that the Nikon D3S is capable of doing, I can normally get fast enough shutter speeds that would make image stabilization nothing more than a nice to have. As you would expect from an 85mm f/1.4 lens, the bokeh is amazing. With the Sigma 85mm f/1.4, I get incredibly sharply focused images with the background completely blurred, which makes beautiful portrait shots. The lens focuses quickly and the HSM motor is very quiet. It comes with two lens hoods, one for full-frame sensors and another for APS-C (1.5 crop) sensors like on my D2XS. I also like that the filter size is 77mm and uses the same filters as my f/2.8 zoom pro lenses.
