Question by magpie: Why do merchants get to list their businesses as Pawn shops when all they want is gold?
I have been in pawn shops in the west and they are just that, they take jewelry, knives, radios, clothes etc. Here in Ohio places listed as “Pawn” shops only want Gold, shouldn’t they be forced to be in the “jewelry” section of phone books, not “pawn”

Businesses can pay to be in any section of the phone book they please as long as the publishers allow it. People who buy gold want to be listed there because people who want to get money for their gold might be looking under stand section of the yellow pages.
